So many diffrent indian food are made with Dal. from khichdee (rich and dal) , soups, flat bread even some helthy soup . I especially hated cooked mung beans. dals are very commonly used in the indian famili .it is hard to find an indian household that does not stock up diffrent types dal. 

1 ) Mung dal   :-      mung dal are little green seeds that are yellow inside . they are eaten whole, sprouted, split with the skins on and split with the skin removed. 

2 ) Urad Dal :-  urad dal is also little black seed with a white interior. it is very similler to a mung dal in shap and size but tasted is deffrents .

3 ) Masoor dal :- Masoor dal is a brown skinned lentil that is orange on the inside. masoor dal  had

pleasent earthy flavor and is very common in northern india.

4)   Toor Dal :- Toor dal is a beige lentil  with a yellow interior. they have a delicious nutty flavor that is very distinctive. 

5) Channa Dal :- channa dal are found in two from the smaller dark skinned beans known as desi  Channa and the larger white skinned beans known as Kabuli channa. channa are slightly nutty in taste. Channa Masala is the most populer dish made with Kabuli Channa.
